Green BTS

Building on the strong foundation laid in previous editions, BTS 2025 takes its sustainability commitment to the next level. As Asia’s premier integrated technology summit, we believe that innovation must walk hand in hand with environmental responsibility.

In BTS 2023, we redefined event sustainability by achieving zero waste to landfill, recycling 6,400 kgs of waste, and reducing plastic consumption by 95%. With BTS 2024, we went further—establishing a comprehensive sustainability roadmap with clear goals on circular economy practices, carbon neutrality, and environmental impact monitoring. We also introduced sustainability awards to recognize vendors and exhibitors who champion green practices.

Now, in BTS 2025, hosted for the first time at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), we are poised to scale these initiatives. The new venue allows us to integrate sustainability by design—with efficient waste management systems, water-saving infrastructure, and energy-efficient facilities.

  Sustainability at Bengaluru Tech Summit

Bengaluru Tech Summit continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, guided by the belief that technological advancement must progress alongside environmental responsibility. Over successive editions, BTS has evolved from implementing green initiatives to building measurable, system-driven sustainability outcomes.

At BTS 2025, hosted for the first time at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the Green BTS initiative delivered its most significant impact to date—demonstrating that scale and sustainability can go hand in hand.

  Carbon Impact

BTS 2025 achieved an 83% reduction in total emissions, limiting the footprint to 172 tCO₂e, with a 90% reduction in per-capita emissions to just 1.9 kg CO₂e. Diesel usage was reduced by 55%, refrigerant emissions by 97%, and a shift to public transport resulted in 93 tCO₂e avoided through increased metro usage.

  Circularity & Waste Management

For the third consecutive year, BTS achieved Zero Waste to Landfill. Despite the expanded scale, 17 tonnes of waste were generated and 100% segregated at source, with all materials recovered and reintegrated into new product cycles—reinforcing circular economy practices at scale.

  Water Stewardship

Water consumption was maintained at 29 litres per square metre, consistent year-on-year. While total water usage increased, this was solely due to a 3.2× expansion in event area and a 68% increase in footfall, underscoring efficiency despite growth.

  Behavioural Transformation

Sustainability engagement extended beyond operations. Over 12,000 visitors participated in green awareness initiatives, with 80+ individuals recognised for adopting five or more sustainable actions onsite. A total of 857 stalls were evaluated, resulting in 35% stronger vendor sustainability standards.

  Benchmarks & Progression

BTS 2025 marked a major milestone as Asia’s largest sustainable technology event for three consecutive editions. The Green BTS 2025 Sustainability Report formalised this journey, reflecting a clear progression—from initiatives, to systems, to the creation of scalable national benchmarks. The long-term vision includes achieving ISO 20121 certification and progressing toward net-zero emissions, supported by carbon offset initiatives through plantation and restoration efforts.

  Looking Ahead to BTS 2026

Building on the outcomes of BTS 2025, BTS 2026 will deepen its sustainability framework with a sharper focus on data-led measurement, partner accountability, circular procurement, and long-term carbon mitigation. The goal is not only to host a sustainable summit, but to set new standards for large-scale technology events across Asia—where innovation, responsibility, and impact advance together.
