The Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, continues to strengthen this ecosystem through progressive policies, robust infrastructure, Centres of Excellence, incubation and learning centres, and initiatives that foster innovation, investment, entrepreneurship and industry growth.

Through Bengaluru Tech Summit, Karnataka creates a platform for global technology leaders, innovators, enterprises, startups, investors and research communities to connect, collaborate and shape what comes next.

Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS)

Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) helps the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology in facilitating and promoting the Information Technology and Biotech sectors in the state. KITS acts as a synergic liaison between Industry and Government, providing secretarial services to the State IT and Bt projects, making it the linchpin for providing all basic information that facilitates the establishment of IT & Bt Industries in the State.

It is the nodal agency for implementing the decisions of the Vision Group on IT and the Vision Group on Bt.

KITS also focuses on tapping Karnataka's large IT talent pool, functioning as a key driver for augmenting foreign investments and collaborations, to enhance skill development, mutual industry facilitation and encourage startups and MSMEs.

K-tech — Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI)

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has played a seminal role in establishing India as an Information Technology superpower. STPI is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Govt. of India. It is conceived with the distinct objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting software exports from India and maintains internal engineering resources to provide consulting, training, and implementation services.

Additionally, STPI also helps setup and manage infrastructural facilities. From time to time, efforts are made to provide statutory and other promotional services to exporters by implementing the Software Technology Parks (STP), Electronics and Hardware Technology Parks (EHTP) Schemes and SEZ schemes offered by Govt. of India. Today, STPI is synonymous with excellent Infrastructure and statutory support for the booming IT sector of the country.
