You control optional storage
Cookies are small values saved by your browser. This site also uses local storage to remember your choices on the same browser and device.
Your three choices
- Accept all: allow our unique-browser and page-view statistics and embedded Google map.
- Reject optional: keep only necessary site storage; do not record optional visit statistics or load the embedded map.
- Necessary only: the same optional features remain disabled, while we remember this choice.
After any choice, the banner stays dismissed on this browser. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. It may appear again if you clear browser data, use private browsing, block storage, or use a different browser or device.
What is stored
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| bts_cookie_choice | Necessary cookie remembering Accept, Reject, or Necessary Only | One year, renewed when you revisit |
| bts-cookie-choice | Local-storage copy of your choice so the banner remains dismissed | Until you clear browser data or change your choice |
| bts-language / googtrans | Remember your language preference | Local storage until cleared; language cookie up to one year |
| accessibilitySettings | Remember accessibility preferences you select | Managed by the accessibility widget |
| BTS_STATS_ADMIN | Secure login session for the private statistics dashboard; not used to track public visitors | Browser session, with a 30-minute inactivity limit |
| bts_visitor | Optional random browser identifier for unique visitor counts, created only after Accept | 90 days, renewed on accepted visits; removed when you reject optional cookies |
Visit statistics
Only after Accept, we count page views by date (UTC), page name and country where server GeoIP data is available. We also set a random browser cookie and store its SHA-256 hash with the date and country in a separate table to count unique browsers. Both tables retain data for 90 days. We do not store visitor IP addresses, query strings, or page histories linked to the browser identifier. Unique visitors represent browsers, not verified people: clearing cookies or using another browser or device counts again. Country totals assign each browser to its latest recorded country; unavailable location data appears as Unknown. The private dashboard also shows the web server’s own IP address.
Changing to Reject or Necessary Only stops future optional statistics and removes the visitor cookie. Existing counts and hashed records expire after the retention period.
External services
The Google map is loaded only after Accept. Google translation is requested when you select a non-English language. Fonts and icons may be delivered by external providers. Requests to these services reveal your connection information to their operators, whose own policies apply. External booking and social links open only when you follow them. Hosting providers may keep separate security or access logs; this banner does not control those logs.
