About Technology in Agriculture
We are happy to invite you to Government of Karnataka led one day workshop on “Technology in Agriculture” on March 28th at Hotel Shangri La, Palace Road, Bengaluru. The workshop is being jointly organized by Department of IT, BT and S&T and Department of Agriculture. Hon’ble Ministers, Sri. Priyank Kharge and Sri. Krishna Byre Gowda have consented to inaugurate the event.
“Technology in Agriculture”, would be organized under the aegis of “Bengaluru Tech Summit”, with emphasis on how new & emerging technologies like IOT, Drones, Smartphones, GIS etc. are impacting the Agriculture sector. The event would have participation from corporate leaders and young startups who would share their experiences, and narratives from International best practices. The event would also showcase the important role played by Government and various institutions in driving the change in application of the new technologies to Agriculture.
A number of technology initiatives have already become self sustaining, with lot of traction among all the stakeholders. However, the experiences have not been shared on a single platform, which is sought to be achieved by this workshop. Here is the tentative agenda of the event.

Farms2fork has developed a Smart irrigation system to address the need to improve the quantity and quality of the yield of agriculture and horticultural crops in India.
CULTYVATE calculates the precise amount of water required for the crops based on static and dynamic data points collected at regular intervals. Static parameters such as crop type and soil type are collected at the beginning of the season. The dynamic parameters such as crop age, amount of water during earlier sessions, wind speed, intensity of sun and several others are collected every day, automatically, for precision calculation of water needs of plants.
Green Robot Machinery Private Limited
GRoboMac aims to bring in advance robotic technology for cotton picking. The machine under design, mimics the human behavior in cotton picking i.e. detecting and picking bloomed cotton, but at a relative high productivity compared to individual manual picking.
Machine Vision, Robotic arms and human assisted Robotics platform vehicle are being used to achieve precision and speed of operation. The machine helps farmers to continue the use of multi-bloom cotton harvesting method we use today, unlike the machines used in single bloom farming method which yields less compared to the multi-bloom and requires applications of chemical for defoliant and Plant Growth Regulators for forced blooming. The machine is also equipped to do precision sowing, spraying and weeding.

Thermal imaging is used to assess a crop & its yield by determining the condition of the seeds, the soil, the cropping pattern, the weather, access to water, use of fertilisers, and the lack of pests.
FlyBird Farm Innovations has developed an affordable and innovative product ‒ Smart Irrigation Controller, Siri. Siri is an automatic precise irrigation system. It can be programmed to regulate water and fertilizer, soil moisture/temperature/humidity sensors. It will prevent the under & over irrigation of crops/plants
CroFarm is aiming to better its vision of assisting farmers by connecting them directly with retail stores and determining the right prices for famers’ produce. CroFarm has an application to sell agricultural produce to consumers, whilst resorting to demand prediction through smart technology viz Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Aibono provides farm-related intelligence, technology, expertise and gadgets to farmers. Engaging in precision agriculture, the company helps small farmers gain from economies of scale by sharing resources and expertise. The agritech startup also advises farmers on the right amount of inputs to use for maximum yield.
